Rapid prototyping models are essential for identifying design flaws and gaining valuable feedback during the design process. Functional rapid prototyping models allow product designers and engineers to see how their designs look and function in real world situations. And using rapid prototyping models allows product companies to win new business, develop better products and improve production planning. But in order to be truly effective for functional testing and other applications, engineers need to create multiple iterations of rapid prototyping models, and they need to be able to create them quickly and inexpensively.
Z Corporation 3D rapid prototyping printers, including the ZPrinter 310 Plus, ZPrinter 450, and the Spectrum Z510 greatly reduce the time and expense of creating rapid prototyping models, allowing companies of any size to create highly detailed rapid prototyping models in hours instead of days and for a much lower cost. A typical part printed on a Z Corp 3D printer costs about $10US. These rapid prototyping machines feature a straightforward user interface and streamlined design, which make them excellent rapid prototyping systems for any office environment or educational institution.
Z Corp. 3D printers use 3DP (three dimensional printing) powder-binder technology invented at and patented by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to create functional parts, prototype models, and scale models directly from digital data. The printers work by first spreading a thin layer of powder. Then an ink-jet print head prints a binder in the cross-section of the part. The build piston then drops down, making room for the next layer, and the process is repeated until the part is finished. When the part is completed, the unused, loose powder is removed and recycled for the next prototype. This recycling action further reduces the cost of rapid prototyping models created on Z Corp. printers.
The full line of Z Corporation 3D printers offer users a range of rapid prototyping solutions to fit any application, company size, and budget. From the entry-level ZPrinter 310 Plus and automated ZPrinter 450 to the flagship Spectrum Z510, Z Corporation has introduced more innovations for transforming 3D CAD data into rapid prototyping models than any other provider of rapid prototyping equipment.
